The Board of Trustees issues charters to organizations wishing to form a federated unit of the association. Affiliates are listed below.
Ohio Osteopathic Foundation
The Ohio Osteopathic Foundation (OOF) is the charitable arm of the Ohio Osteopathic Association (OOA), founded in 1963 to support osteopathic education and research in the state of Ohio. From June 1975 until April 1983, the OOF was funded by a mandatory assessment, unanimously approved by the OOA House of Delegates. The assessment was restricted to support the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) and raised more than $1 million to support development of the college. Today, the OOF depends on tax-deductible contributions and grants from other foundations and governmental agencies to carry on its work.
Ohio Osteopathic Hospital Association
Established in 1939, the mission of the Ohio Osteopathic Hospital Association is to promote the influence and science of osteopathic medicine in Ohio by establishing, extending, and maintaining high standards of hospital service.
Ohio Osteopathic Political Action Committee
The Ohio Osteopathic Political Action Committee (OOPAC) is a voluntary, nonprofit, un-incorporated association operating as an affiliated political committee of the Ohio Osteopathic Association.
Ohio State Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians
Ohio ACOFP actively represents the rights and interest of osteopathic family physicians and helps preserve the freedom to provide the best care to their patients. In Ohio, 26 percent of all family physicians are DOs.
