OOA Celebrates 2025 National Osteopathic Medicine Week

National Osteopathic Medicine (NOM) Week, scheduled for April 14-20, 2025, commemorates the invaluable contributions of nearly 200,000 osteopathic physicians (DOs) and medical students dedicated to delivering comprehensive care to millions of patients nationwide. This celebration marks the 150th anniversary of osteopathic medicine, a field that has emerged as a rapidly expanding healthcare sector.

In Ohio, over 9,800 DOs practice across various specialties, integrating their medical knowledge with a holistic approach focused on patient collaboration and attentive listening. The state plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the U.S. healthcare workforce through institutions like the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and the forthcoming Xavier College of Osteopathic Medicine.
