AOA Campaigns to Prevent Medicare Cuts

The AOA is gearing up to stop the 9.9 percent cut in Medicare physician payments. In recent weeks they have received more than 70 e-mails from osteopathic physicians across the US describing how Medicare physician payment cuts have and will affect their ability to provide care to patients. Such accounts are crucial to helping Congress understand the sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula is broken and the system must be reformed. E-mail your story to asims@osteopathic.org. As part of the effort, the AOA launched an advertising campaign in early June focusing on beneficiary access to care. The ad appeared in Congressional Quarterly and Roll Call.
